Preston Gee Accepts Permanent Appointment
With Trinity Health
He Will Join Leadership Team as SVP, Strategy,

Novi, Michigan (May 19, 2008) – Trinity Health, the nation’s
fourth-largest Catholic health care provider with 44 hospitals
in seven core states, has named Preston Gee as its senior vice
president of strategic planning and marketing . Effective May
30, he will officially join the organization after serving on
an interim basis since September 2007.
“Preston has been a key member of our leadership team
since coming to our organization eight months ago, and we
are thrilled that he has agreed to take on the role permanently,”
said Joseph Swedish, president and CEO, Trinity Health. “Preston
understands the critical health and community market issues
that face our integrated network of hospitals. His extensive
experience and expertise will serve Trinity Health well as
we advance our vision to become the most trusted health partners
in the communities we serve.”
As senior vice president, Gee will oversee the strategic
planning, marketing and corporate communications functions.
He will provide leadership and guidance throughout Trinity
Health in the development of strategic, business, service
line, marketing and communications plans and products. In
addition, he will provide leadership in identifying strategies
to achieve market differentiation. He will also orchestrate
the evaluation and expansion of the organization's service
line portfolio.
Gee served in a similar capacity for 11 years at St. David’s
Health, a seven-hospital system based in Austin, Texas, prior
to joining Phase 2 Consulting as a senior director. In addition
to more than 25 years experience as a senior strategist and
marketer with hospitals and health systems, He has authored
or co-authored nine books on health care strategy, including
his most recent, Service Line Execution 2.0: Advanced
Strategies for Progressive Hospitals. He has also written
more than 250 articles on emerging trends and leading issues,
and is a frequent presenter at national and state forums.
He holds a bachelor’s degree MBA from Brigham Young
University, and is the recipient of Modern Healthcare’s
“Up and Comers Award.”
