The unpredictable nature of the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about challenging circumstances with added stress and anxiety for frontline healthcare workers. While clinical colleagues serve patients, it is critical that they are also taking care of their own emotional well-being.

To help empower nurses and other frontline clinical colleagues to take charge of their wellness, Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic teamed up with Independence Blue Cross Foundation and NeuroFlow to offer a behavioral health program with 24/7 Self-Service Mental Wellness and Resiliency Tools available at their fingertips.

The NeuroFlow app is filled with engaging activities for users to record mood and sleep, such as journals, guided breathing, audio guides, and more tools to ensure that emotional well-being is attended to and addressed in a timely manner. These tools also help users notice patterns over time to manage stress and build upon individual strengths.

Independence Blue Cross Foundation initially organized the partnership and has funded a grant to make NeuroFlow’s program accessible for Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic colleagues.

"Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic Chief Nursing Officers were thrilled to partner with the Independence Blue Cross Foundation and NeuroFlow, said Monica C. Eckhardt, Chief Nursing Officer, Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic. “During these stressful and challenging times in healthcare, we must be especially mindful of our care providers' mental wellbeing. It is with great pride that we offer our nursing and respiratory associates the NeuroFlow app at their fingertips. This app allows colleagues to measure and monitor their mental wellbeing and brings daily tips and resources directly to the participant."

NeuroFlow’s app has been piloted to over 1,800 colleagues at Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic’s Nazareth Hospital, Mercy Fitzgerald, and St. Mary Medical Center.
