"Together we can become our best selves by embracing all dimensions of diversity and providing equitable and inclusive care for those we serve."
– A message from Mike Slubowski, Trinity Health President and CEO
We are living in unprecedented times and facing three major challenges—a public health crisis with COVID-19, an economic crisis, and a social justice crisis.
Our Mission, to be a compassionate, transforming, and healing presence in the communities we serve, guides the framework of our diversity, equity, and inclusion strategic plan.
Built upon this foundational Mission, our pillars of focus include diversity in governance, talent, creating a culture of inclusion and belonging, diversifying supply chain and health equity. This approach to our work allowed us to pivot into new targeted initiatives as an immediate response to the COVID-19 global pandemic and tense racial climate in the U.S.
With the support of Trinity Health's board of directors and senior leaders, actions were embedded into the diversity, equity, and inclusion strategic plan creating focus on long-term strategies to address systemic racism and health equity within our organization.
We all have different lived experiences, different customs and traditions, different abilities and talents, but together we can become our best selves by embracing all dimensions of diversity and providing equitable and inclusive care for those we serve.
“At Trinity Health, diversity, equity, and inclusion are paramount to living our Mission, demonstrating our Core Values, and achieving our Vision."
– A message from LaRonda Haller, Senior Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, at Trinity Health
Diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts across the country have faced fierce opposition and backlash. As a result, many organizations have retreated from their public commitment to and investment in diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies and initiative - but not Trinity Health.
Trinity Health’s unwavering commitment to the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion is central to our identity, our calling, and our responsibility as a healing Ministry.
While we have many miles to go on this journey, we are positioning ourselves to be a leader in the advancement of health and racial equity through intentional actions that remove barriers that are unjust and inequitable.
