Statement from Trinity Health CEO Mike Slubowski
October 23, 2019-
Trinity Health is deeply concerned about President Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris climate agreement. Withdrawing from a multi-national effort to reduce environmentally harmful impacts is disrespectful and potentially unhealthy to people in all communities. Climate change affects clean air, safe drinking water, food supplies and other environmental influencers of health. All people are interconnected with the environment, and people who are poor and vulnerable, especially children, are the most at risk of the effects of climate change.
Trinity Health will continue our efforts to reduce the carbon footprint of our 22-state health system, while continuing to advocate for smart environmental stewardship. We urge the President to demonstrate his commitment to a healthy population and a healthy planet for all.
