Trinity Health and Watson Caring Science Institute Collaborate to Enhance Patient Care
April 22, 2021LIVONIA, MI (APRIL 23, 2021) – Trinity Health, one of the largest multi-institutional Catholic health care delivery systems in the nation, announced its designation as a National Caring Science Affiliate System of the Watson Caring Science Institute (WCSI). The designation by WCSI, and its founder and director, Dr. Jean Watson, recognizes Trinity Health's exemplary integration of Caring Theory and leadership commitment to offer informed Caring Science practices to patients, communities and colleagues.

To become a National Caring Science Affiliate System, Trinity Health has demonstrated to WCSI the authentically, deep-rooted and sustainable commitment to integrating Caring Science to transform and broaden whole person health and healing for patients, families, colleagues and communities.
WCSI is an international non-profit 501c3 organization that advances the philosophies, theories and practices of Human Caring/Caring Science. Focusing on research, education, praxis leadership and legacy, the institute aims to widen the development and understanding of Caring Science to inform the notion of quality care and healing environments. Currently there are more than 600 hospitals throughout the U.S. with many other partner health care systems globally using Watson’s Caring Science as their professional practice model.
