Trinity Health Partners with Health Systems for Healthcare Anchor Network Policy Day
April 26, 2022
Improving the health of individuals and communities is at the core of Trinity Health’s Mission. This commitment led us to become a founding member of the Healthcare Anchor Network (HAN), a collaboration of more than 65 health systems across the United States working to more fully harness economic power to inclusively and sustainably benefit the long-term health and well-being of the communities they serve.
As a locally rooted institution, Trinity Health is committed to the long-term well-being of our communities. Anchor institutions, like health systems, are economic engines—they are large purchasers, employers and investors. HAN brings together a growing number of health systems working to improve health and wellness by leveraging our assets – including hiring, purchasing and investment – for equitable and local economic impact.
Trinity Health works with expert partners, such as community development corporations and community workforce development programs that are key to the community, but which are often under-resourced. Health systems are critical partners in addressing housing insecurity and workforce development and employment needs.
Trinity Health is pleased to join with HAN for its annual policy day to educate policymakers on the impact of social influencers of health and well-being. In meetings with our members of Congress, we will elevate our role as anchor institutions committed to our communities, recognize the role of community development organizations as essential partners addressing affordable housing and workforce development, and express the need for an effective federal partner in solving these challenges.
