URAC granted its full accreditation, with zero deficiencies, on March 1, 2021 and ACHC accredited the pharmacy in October 2020. Accreditation is a process through which health care organizations demonstrate compliance with national standards.

This dual accreditation reflects THPS’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care.

“Accreditation strengthens our ability to contract with insurance companies and access medications from manufacturers, so our patients can more easily get the care they need,” said Bob Ripley, vice president and chief pharmacy officer, Trinity Health.

“Our goal is to reduce frustration for our providers and patients by providing all administrative services from the time the prescription is written to when it is dispensed. All providers have to do is write the prescription and we will take care of the rest. They will not be burdened with completing the paperwork to get prescriptions approved by insurance companies,” added Ripley.

THPS opened its doors in November 2019 and provides specialty medications for complex, chronic and rare diseases. The specialty pharmacy is located within Trinity Health's existing Indiana distribution center and houses a pharmacy team, including a specialized call center and order Logo, company name Description automatically generatedfulfillment center, which offers an exceptional experience for patients.

“Trinity Health Pharmacy Services has been a trustworthy and collaborative partner in working with our practice and our oral chemotherapy patient population. They effectively communicate with our team, assist in problem solving, and follow through to ensure patients are taken care of. As a practice, we have experienced significant staffing issues and THPS has helped bridge the gaps to provide a better-quality care and service to our patients,” said Anne Gentz, program manager, IHA Hematology Oncology.

URAC is an independent, nonprofit organization and a well-known leader in promoting health care quality through its accreditation, measurement and education programs.

ACHC is a nonprofit organization that has stood as a symbol of quality and excellence since 1986. ACHC is ISO 9001:2015 certified and has CMS deeming authority for Home Health, Hospice and DMEPOS.
