The Glacier Hills Foundation has received a $1,000,000 gift from the Estate of a former resident. He and his wife had lived in the Ann Arbor Life Plan Community for a number of years and were devotees of the art exhibits and music performances on campus. After his wife’s passing, the resident began considering his estate plans in earnest.
"We couldn't be more grateful for their generosity," Becky Pazkowski, Executive Director of the Glacier Hills Foundation, said of the couple. Upon learning that the husband was planning to remember Glacier Hills in his estate, Becky visited with him to thank him and talk about the future gift. She explained: “I did not know the details of the amount, but he shared that we were free to use the gift as we saw best. He was happy to be able to do it and was grateful that he and his wife had spent the last chapters of their life here."
“We look forward to exploring projects at Glacier Hills that would fit well with their passions for travel and the arts and determining how best to honor their intent and their legacy,“ said Mary Ann McDonald, chair of the Glacier Hills Foundation Board. “Their gift will do so much good for our residents and community.”
“There is simply no more gracious way to express gratitude for an outstanding resident experience than to make it possible for others to feel the same joy and sense of belonging. Glacier Hills is honored and humbled by this couple’s gift and what it says about their appreciation for the people, programs, and possibilities they encountered here,” Becky said.
