Healing and Ministering in the Native American Community During an Epidemic

Deborah Guancial, Clinical Manager at Saint Joseph’s Health at Home, Mishawaka, IN, spoke about how faith and spirituality support the healing process. She mentioned how one Native American historical figure ministered and healed during the smallpox epidemic. Today, it is this model of grace and compassion that is a beacon of hope and inspiration to many, especially to those who minister to the sick and suffering.
