Before You Begin


  • In your email you will receive your offer letter to sign along with  2 additional tasks of entering your personal information and social  security number.    
  • Background Check – you will receive an email from Sterling with required information to complete
  • Drug Screen – you will receive an email from Sterling with required information to complete
  • Health Assessment (if applicable for position and work location) – a HR representative will reach out to schedule

COVID Vaccine – you will receive an email from Sterling to verify. Effective July 8, 2021, Trinity Health implemented a policy requiring all colleagues, including new hires, to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (including the first of a two dose vaccine, if currently in process) or an approved exemption is required at two points:

  1. This documentation will be verified before you start, as part of the pre-hire health requirements.
  • Your first Workday task to complete is the I-9. Complete section 1 in Workday, Then, you must follow these steps to schedule your external verification site appointment and complete section 2 of your I9:
    1. Using web browser Chrome, click this link to complete and schedule a remote appointment at an external verification site: https://hrx.talx.com/ec/#/login/14229/Template/de237afb-17f6-4524-abea-a380cde206fa
    2. Select location code "Trinity Health"- click Continue
    3. Complete each of the forms – click Complete
    4. Once all information has been entered you will be prompted to Review and Electronically sign the document (Sign with 2 initials) – click Continue
    5. You will be prompted to choose a location nearest you to schedule an appointment to have your Eligibility documents verified (Passport, Driver's License, State issued ID card, Birth Certificate, SSN card). This appointment should be completed prior to your start date, and must be completed no later than your 3rd day of employment.
    6. You will receive a verification code – You do not need to print this, but should record the verification number.
    7. After scheduling your appointment, make sure to return to Workday and click "submit" on the I-9 Part 2 task, as this is the gatekeeper to submit other onboarding tasks.

You will receive a series of automatically-generated emails from Trinity Health Workday. One contains your new network username and another contains your temporary password. Please read all of these emails carefully, as they contain important instructions. To login as a new colleague for the first time:

  1. Please wait for 24 hours, as the logins are not active until 24-48 hours have passed.
  2. Go to the employee Workday login page: https://www.trinity-health.org/workday/
  3. On the top right side, you should see the option for "Workday Login". Click on this.
  4. Select the "Reset Password" option and enter your username and temporary password. This will then prompt you to set a new password. Please make note of your new password as you will use it to login going forward.

In Workday, there are several onboarding tasks to complete. You can see all tasks via the onboarding dashboard. The submission of your current address is important for tax purposes and payroll. If you have any questions about these tasks, please contact our onboarding team:

If you are being offered a position with benefits, you will have 30 days to enter your benefit selections in Workday after you start. If you have questions, most of them should be answered during the new employee orientations. You will be scheduled in advance for the mandatory 2-hour live national orientation. This takes place on a Tuesday after you start, typically within a week. Any other required orientations are pre-recorded videos you will watch in your first 30 days.
