LIVONIA, MICH. (Oct. 15, 2023) – Trinity Health today welcomes Ray Anderson, Ph.D. to its executive leadership team as executive vice president and chief strategy officer. Anderson is responsible for leading system-wide strategic planning, business development, partnerships, mergers and acquisitions for the not-for-profit Catholic health system. He is well-positioned to drive Trinity Health's growth and long-term sustainability while advancing its mission of providing compassionate, high-quality care to communities across the nation.




Most recently, Anderson served as senior vice president and chief strategy officer for Ascension Texas, a 15-hospital integrated health system in central Texas. He started in healthcare after graduating from college as a paramedic in rural Virginia before moving into biomedical research with the National Cancer Institute and then Pfizer before transitioning into management consulting with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where he served as a strategic advisor to healthcare CEOs and senior executives. His roster of clients included academic medical centers, health systems, health plans, research institutions and state and national governments to develop enterprise-wide strategic plans focused on prioritized program development, cross-mission integration and physician engagement strategies.

Anderson holds an M.B.A. from Duke University and a Ph.D. in biological chemistry from the University of Virginia and is fluent in Spanish and has business proficiency in French.
